Your $50 First Session: Assess, Align, and Move

Groove Active in Portland offers a special $50 first session with Jordyn so you can experience her coaching style before committing to an ongoing plan. This introductory session is designed to feel like a low-pressure, "deep dive" into you — your body, your goals, and your life — followed by a taste of how training together will actually feel.

During this first session, you can expect four main parts:

01

Personal Assessment

Jordyn will review your intake form responses and ask follow-up questions about your injury history, pain, medical conditions, stress, and current routine. This helps her understand how your body moves today and what needs extra care or attention.

02

Goal-Setting Conversation

You'll talk through your top fitness goals and what has held you back in the past, then define what "success in 3 months" looks like in real, concrete terms — less pain, more strength, better consistency, or feeling more at home in your body.

03

Getting to Know You and Your Lifestyle

Jordyn will ask about your schedule, stress levels, sleep, and preferences — how many times a week you want to train, what times of day feel best, and what kind of coaching style motivates you. This is where she starts tailoring your plan to your real life, not an idealized one.

04

First Workout Together

You'll go through a full, customized workout that matches your current fitness level, respecting any injuries or conditions you've shared. The focus is on learning how you move, dialing in technique, and finding a training pace that feels challenging but doable.

Step by step

How to Schedule Your First Session

  • Share your current fitness level, how often you exercise now, and the types of movement you enjoy.
2

Share Your Goals and Health Background

  • List your top fitness goals — building strength, improving mobility, feeling more confident, or getting back into a routine.
  • Note any injuries, pain, or medical conditions so your training plan can be safe and tailored to you.
3

Set Preferences for Training, Schedule, and Budget

  • Choose how many in-person sessions you'd like each week and what days and times typically work best.
  • Indicate your ideal monthly investment and whether you'd like a customized plan to follow on your own between sessions.

After you submit, Jordyn reviews everything and contacts you to confirm a schedule, talk through pricing options, and answer any questions before you commit.

Second Training Session and Beyond

If you decide to continue, you'll schedule your second workout after that $50 first session. Between sessions, Jordyn takes everything she learned — your movement patterns, energy levels, goals, and constraints — and builds a structured plan.

At the second workout:

  • Jordyn shares your personalized training plan, walking you through the overall structure — weekly frequency, focus areas, progression, and how your goals map to specific exercises and phases.
  • You'll review the plan together, make any adjustments needed for schedule, budget, or comfort, and then get right to work applying it in that session.
  • From there, every session is about following and refining that plan — tracking progress, adjusting for life events or flare-ups, and making sure the training continues to feel aligned with your goals.

What you can expect

What Groove Active in Portland Offers

Groove Active is all about sustainable, joy-centered fitness that fits into real life instead of competing with it. The intake form is intentionally detailed because it helps turn your story into a plan.

Individualized Programming

Every plan is built around your current fitness level, injury history, medical considerations, and goals — not a generic template. Your responses about pain, conditions, stress, and nutrition directly shape your sessions and at-home workouts.

Holistic Approach to Health

The form asks about stress, nutrition, lifestyle, and commitment because Jordyn looks at the whole picture: recovery, work schedule, sleep, and motivation patterns — not just what you can lift.

Flexible Session Structure

You can choose 1–5 in-person sessions per week and pair them with a custom plan to follow independently. This makes it easier to match your schedule, your budget, and your energy.

Clear Expectations and Measurable Progress

You'll define what success looks like — feeling stronger, having less pain, or being consistent for the first time in years. Jordyn uses that definition to track progress and adjust the plan.

Why Jordyn

What Sets Jordyn Apart from Other Trainers

If you're looking for a high-energy instructor who will listen to and care for you, you've found the right place.

✓

Compassionate Coaching

Many people have complicated histories with fitness, body image, or gyms. Jordyn uses non-judgmental language, emphasizes consent and comfort, and builds plans that respect where you are starting from — whether you're a beginner, returning after a long break, or managing chronic pain.

✓

A Joy-Filled, Fun Workout

Jordyn designs sessions that feel more like energy than punishment, using upbeat music, creative movement, and encouraging coaching so you leave feeling energized, confident, and genuinely excited to come back.

✓

Integration of Mobility and Strength

This isn't "no pain, no gain" training. Sessions blend strength work, mobility, and breath or pacing strategies to help you stay regulated — especially important if you're dealing with stress or previous injuries.

✓

Collaborative Planning, Not One-Way Instructions

Your intake answers about what has held you back and what success looks like guide the conversation. Jordyn co-creates the plan with you, holding you to agreed standards while adjusting around busy seasons, travel, or flare-ups.

✓

Transparency Around Pricing and Options

The budget section of the form exists so you can talk openly about what feels sustainable. Instead of a one-size-fits-all package, you'll discuss options that align with your resources and goals.

All of this makes Groove Active a better fit for people who want training that honors their body, their history, and their goals.
